16 years ago, we started on a single pitch in Gansbaai, South Africa. Today, we're a worldwide movement changing thousands of young lives. Become part of the KASI community.
Hockey as a vehicle for change.
A hockey stick doesn't change a life on its own. But regular training does. Volunteers who show up every day do. So does the simple joy of running, laughing and being part of a team. That's the real work behind KASI Hockey: using the fun of the game as a way in, so kids in Cape Town's townships and other places get more than sport. KASI is not just teaching hockey, but using it to open doors that stay open long after training ends.

Ask any volunteer what keeps them coming back, and it's never about how many kids they have trained. It's the kid who couldn't hit the ball two weeks ago, now smiling ear to ear after a clean pass. It's about high-fives after every drill and laughter between water breaks. That's what everyday training sessions actually look like. Not a statistic, just a lot of genuinely happy kids.

We didn't set out to build something global. We just kept saying YES to one more community, one more country, one more chance to prove that hockey can change a life anywhere. Four countries in, that's still exactly how it works: not a masterplan, just people showing up, again and again, until an idea from Cape Town became a movement without borders.
Right now, that's South Africa, Tanzania, Chile, and Zambia. Next stop: wherever needs us most.
